NanoDose™ Standalone Iron Removal Kit

Complete chemical oxidation of iron and manganese in a storage tank: dosing pump, 100 L chemical tank and a NanoJet™ recirculation loop. Chemicals not included.

What it is for

Borehole and wellpoint iron is usually dissolved and invisible when it comes out of the ground, and only turns orange once it meets air – staining walls, paving, basins and laundry. To remove it, the dissolved iron and manganese must first be oxidised into solid particles. This kit does that in your storage tank with sodium hypochlorite.

Why “standalone”: the kit mounts on the side of your storage tank and brings its own NanoJet™ recirculation loop. It treats the water already in the tank, so it doesn’t depend on a borehole pump running or on the water flowing past an injection point.

How it works

1. The dosing pump feeds sodium hypochlorite into the venturi injector, which draws it into the NanoJet™ jet stream. The turbulence reactor mixes it thoroughly through the water for fast, complete contact.
2. Iron is quickly oxidised into solid ferric hydroxide particles. Manganese reacts more slowly and generally needs a higher pH (around 7.2–8.5); the intense mixing helps it along.
3. As a bonus, it also removes hydrogen sulphide (rotten-egg) odour and disinfects the water.

What’s included

1. Etatron PKX analogue dosing pump – solenoid diaphragm pump, output set by hand on the dial (1 L/h at 5 bar, up to 5 L/h at 7 bar), IP65, NSF certified. Supplied with its installation kit: 2 m discharge tube, 2 m suction and bleed tubes, foot filter and injection valve.
2. 100 L chemical dosing tank – choose Blue for outdoor installation or Clear for indoor installation (lets you see the level at a glance).
3. NanoJet™ Borehole Pressure-Boost assembly, sized to your tank – VORTEX™ (1,000–2,500 L), FUSION™ (2,500–5,000 L) or CYCLONE™ (5,000–10,000 L). Includes the pipes and connectors, mesh filter, gate valve, pressure gauge, venturi injector, NanoJet™ turbulence reactor and 1.1 kW pump.
4. Chemical float switch (10 m cable) (optional) – sits in the chemical tank and stops the dosing pump if the chemical runs out, so it never runs dry or pumps air.
5. Tank connectors (25, 32 or 40 mm) – optional, to suit your tank outlet.

Not included

1. Sodium hypochlorite – we’ll recommend the right product and strength for your water.
2. Why chemicals are separate: treatment chemicals are heavy and expensive to ship, so it is usually far cheaper to buy the recommended chemical from a supplier near you. We’ll tell you exactly which chemical and strength to buy, and it is also available from us as a separate product.
3. Installation (available on request).

What it needs after it

Oxidising the iron is only half the job – the particles must then be settled and filtered out. Pair this kit with the NanoJet™ STANDARD Iron & Sludge Removal Kit, which filters the particles through AFM® glass and backwashes them out to waste on a timer. For drinking water or irrigation, finish with an activated carbon filter to remove the leftover chlorine.

If your water is acidic, correct the pH first (see the NanoDose™ Standalone pH Control Recirculation Kit) – iron and especially manganese come out far more completely at the right pH.

Safety

Sodium hypochlorite is corrosive. Wear gloves and eye protection, store it out of direct sun and never mix it with acids or other chemicals.
